No-Gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

10th Planet Longmont offers the best instruction around in No-Gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Combat Submission Wrestling, and grappling for Mixed Martial Arts. Classes start with a brief warmup, then dive deep into the specific details needed to master a given technique.

At the end of class, students get the opportunity to try techniques "live" against a resisting opponent in positional sparring — this is where the real progress happens, as you see what works and make the adjustments needed to perfect your technique.

The 10th Planet Warmups provide the skeleton of the entire system — lettered A through H, each with four numbered sequences, and "synced" to headquarters in Los Angeles. If you've trained before, have a strong athletic foundation, and are comfortable with live rolling, our All Levels classes are built for you. New to grappling? Start with Jiu Jitsu Fundamentals instead.

  • All Levels classes 7 days a week
  • Jiu Jitsu Fundamentals for newer students
  • Live positional sparring every class
  • Built for MMA, self-defense, and competition

Wrestling & Takedowns

Most physical altercations — and every jiu-jitsu match — start standing. Our wrestling and takedown classes give you the ability to safely take the fight to the ground and secure a dominant position.

We spend significant time on pummeling and hand-fighting to establish dominant position, using Russian and baseball grip 2-on-1 tie-ups to set up the takedown. These skills transfer seamlessly from street self-defense to sport jiu-jitsu and form the foundation of a well-rounded standing game. Takedown defense is also covered for strikers who want to keep the fight standing.

  • Pummeling and hand-fighting fundamentals
  • Russian and baseball grip 2-on-1 tie-ups
  • Takedown defense for strikers
  • Direct application to sport jiu-jitsu and MMA

Leg Locks

Leg locks are one of the defining features of the 10th Planet system — and one of the most misunderstood areas of jiu-jitsu for grapplers who didn't come up training them. This class is dedicated entirely to the leg lock game: entries, control positions, and finishes, broken down step by step so they're safe to drill and dangerous to face.

Whether you're filling a real gap in your guard-passing and leg-entanglement defense, or building an offensive leg lock game to compete with, this is focused reps on the position most other gyms only touch in passing.

Thursdays at 7:00pm

  • Entries, control, and finishes in depth
  • Leg entanglement defense as well as offense
  • A 10th Planet system specialty
  • Best after some Fundamentals or All Levels experience

Strength & Conditioning

Jiu-jitsu rewards technique, but technique lasts longer and hits harder when it's backed by real strength and conditioning. This class builds the athleticism that supports your game on the mats — strength, explosiveness, grip endurance, and the conditioning to keep pace deep into hard rounds.

It's built specifically with grapplers in mind, not a generic gym class — the movements and conditioning work translate directly to what you need for live rolling and competition.

Mondays at 7:00pm

  • Strength, explosiveness, and grip endurance
  • Conditioning built for live rolling and competition
  • Grappling-specific, not generic gym programming
  • Pairs well with any jiu-jitsu class
Women's Only

Women's Self-Defense

We provide the women in our classes with the most effective form of real-world self-defense available. Our women's classes are a place to gain confidence, strengthen your body, and build friendships with other strong women in the community — all while learning real-world, functional self-defense.

We understand that many women start training jiu-jitsu after being attacked. This class offers a safe space to regain your power in a supportive, understanding environment before venturing into coed classes. It's free, so financial hardship never has to keep you from feeling safe.

Saturdays at 11:00am — free for all women

  • Real-world, functional self-defense technique
  • Supportive, women-only training environment
  • No cost — every Saturday at 11am

Ages 3–5

Tots

Our Tots program is your child's very first introduction to the mats — built around listening, sharing, following directions, and basic movement, all through games your child will actually want to play. There's no live sparring at this age; the goal is building comfort, coordination, and confidence in a fun, structured setting.

For a lot of parents, this is the first time their child has had to focus and follow a coach's instructions outside the house — and it's a great early foundation for the discipline and confidence that carries into every program that follows.

  • Ages 3–5, no experience needed
  • Game-based, no live sparring
  • Builds listening, coordination, and focus
  • A confident first step onto the mats
Ages 6–10

Kids Martial Arts

Our Kids program is built for ages 6–10, with a curriculum based on the adult fundamentals class and scaled to be age-appropriate. This grappling-based self-defense program builds the confidence kids need to stand up to bullying — a concern we hear from parents constantly, and one real jiu-jitsu training genuinely addresses.

Beyond self-defense, kids leave class calmer, more focused, and more disciplined — skills that show up at school and at home, not just on the mats. We pride ourselves on producing calm, confident, capable young grapplers.

  • Ages 6–10, no experience required
  • Grappling-based real self-defense skills
  • Confidence, focus, and anti-bullying tools
  • Multiple sessions throughout the week
Ages 11+

Teens

Our Teens program bridges kids and adult training for students 11 and up — a structured, positive outlet during years when kids need one most. Classes build real technical skill while reinforcing discipline, respect, and the kind of quiet confidence that helps teens make better decisions under peer pressure.

As teens grow in skill and maturity, this program is the direct on-ramp into our adult All Levels and Fundamentals classes, so there's always a clear next step as they progress.

  • Ages 11+, no experience required
  • Bridges into adult classes as skill grows
  • Builds discipline, respect, and confidence
  • A positive, structured outlet during teen years
